NAGAPATTINAM: Six panchaloha idols were stolen by a five-member gang from the Mariamman temple at Melapandoor village near Mayiladuturai in Nagapattinam district on Monday night. Police sources told The Hindu on Wednesday that the value of the idols have not been ascertained as yet. The Kuthalam police have registered a case. Source: The Hindu

It is amazing that despite human beings are so superior than other beings in their achievements, intelligence and understanding yet today a large number of people devote themselves to objects that they themselves make, from their own hands. Even animals don't show servitude to things they gather and assemble; then what is the matter with these intellectual beings? They worship and seek help from things that cannot hear them, answer them, benefit them or harm them?

How can they reduce 'God' - the Creator of everything that exists, the All-powerful, the Maintainer to idols so powerless that thieves steal them away? These gods cannot help themselves, so how would they help the people?

Almighty God says in the Qur'aan:

O mankind! An example has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily, those on whom you call besides Allâh, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatches away a thing from them, they will have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought. [Qur'aan 22:73]
Is there really a Creator? What is the Qur'aan? Who is Allah? What is Islam and  what is the Message of Islam?

The above article from a newspaper states very clearly that the idols have been stolen from a temple and the local newspaper does not even mention 'gods'. It is sad to note that in the present day of intellectual advances people of each religion try to denounce another rather than dessiminating its core teachings that is love, equality & tolerance. When one delves into the teachings of each religion, we find that all religions impart the same teachings. In this world of materialism and competition to prove our religious superiority, we forget the lofty ideals & teachings of the religions.

My friend, I'm sorry if the title has hurt your feelings. Yes you are correct the actual title is 'Idols Stolen Away'. But you must understand that there is no difference between idols and gods. The idols in temples are gods. These are not any other idols, but they are the idols in the temples that are worshiped. Anything that is worshiped is 'god'. Even if you check the meaning of 'god' in any dictionary you will find along with its meanings, they would have also mentioned idol.

iNarrators does not make fun of others religions or abuse them or abuse their gods. But rather it invites to a healthy understanding and reasoning. You will not find any words of contempt in the above.

Thanks for your comment. And I hope you are satisfied with the answer
